National Human Rights Commission, Taiwan Announces Open Call for Color Our Rights! 2024 Human Rights Poster Design Competition
TAIPEI, Taiwan, July 15, 2024 - “Color Our Rights! 2024 Human Rights Poster Design Competition” is open for submissions until Sep. 6, 2024. Students (high school or above) and members of the public (18 and older) are eligible to participate. We welcome designers and artists worldwide to join us and learn more about human rights.
This year marks the third time Taiwan’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC, Taiwan) has organized this competition. Notably, this year’s competition is open to the international community and emphasizes the theme of “Equality and Non-discrimination.” By involving the perspectives of both Taiwanese and international designers and encouraging diverse materials for poster design, we aim to highlight human rights values and raise public awareness of human rights issues.
The first article of the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” states that “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” However, in recent years, this vision has been challenged by incidents promoting racial discrimination, social unrest, and international conflicts. In response, the NHRC hopes to bring human rights into the spotlight to safeguard equality with global unity.
This competition is divided into two categories: Student and General. In each category, the following prizes will be awarded: a Gold winner (NT$200,000), two Silver winners (NT$150,000 each), three Bronze winners (NT$100,000 each), 20 Honorable Mentions (NT$20,000 each), and an Online Popularity Award (NT$30,000).
